Description:

Why so serious?! If you are like us, you have found it hard to find things to laugh about. Working to change the world is grueling and daunting work, but the pursuit of happiness is what we are fighting for! So we are making time to LAUGH!

Come out to Shirlington and get your ribs tickled, massage your funny bone, slap a knee or two. Because LAUGHTER is an act of resistance!

Produced by Allan Sidley:

A comedian, improviser and lyricist, Allan is a jack off all trades. Allan's humor is dry, and a little wet from perspiration, usually. He pokes fun at Jews, mostly his Mom & Grandma, and dissects cultural taboos like online dating while balding or being a great +1 for a funeral. Often serious with hints of silly, Allan manages to keep dark topics light-hearted and his audiences on their toes (so bring comfortable shoes). His comedy has been described as, "great for first dates."

He's opened (the door for) Sinbad, and toured throughout Eastern Europe in the summer of 2011 (not for comedy, just a fun fact). He did however recently feature at the Church of Satire comedy club, and was a member of the Unkosher Comedy Tour. In addition to running comedy shows at Busboys & Poets in Takoma, Shirlington, and 14th & V, he manages the Tysons Comedy Cellar and shows under his production company Sidley Standup.

About the Comedians:

Scott Hall - Host:

A rookie in the standup game with a natural ability to fake confidence, Scott seems poised for success. Laidback, his engaging comedy style makes him one of the top MCs the area. Scott produces the What's Your Dealpodcast

Kasha Patel:

Kasha is an American science writer, stand-up comedian, voice artist, and podcaster. She has produced the only regularly-recurring science comedy shows in the United States since 2014. She has been featured on BBC World News, The Washington Post, appeared on the Travel Channel’s “Mysteries at the Museum,” and hosted a mini series on NASA TV.

Kevin O'Kelly:

Kevin O'Kelly is a standup comedian, husband, and father of three from Frederick, Maryland. At the tender age of 40, he dreamed of one day compiling three minutes of comedy for an open mic. Wisely, he pursued this dream, leading to untold wealth and prestige. Lets face it, Kevin O'Kelly doesn't need you or anybody. But he's still a man of the people. Whether he's taking on grammar correctors, those stick-figure stickers on the backs of minivans, or "friends" who suddenly turn on you just because you haven't seen Shawshank, Kevin O'Kelly is on your side, dealing with the subjects that matter. He also hates your children. On Twitter: @KevinWasOK

Yasmin Elhady:

Yasmin has performed all over the DMV and the country at places like the DC Drafthouse Comedy Theater, Cellar Door, NYU, & Stanford. She toured the UK on the Super Muslim Comedy Tour with PennyAppeal UK last year. Her alter ego is "Yasguru," a hyper active relationship advisor with silly videos on Instagram and YouTube.

Algiers Diamond:

An actress & comedian, Algiers represents all things southern from Westbank, New Orleans. A product of New Orleans Center of Creative Arts the stage has always been home. Never wanting to be placed in a box, Algiers talents are such abundance. Whether on stage during a powerful dramatic theatrical performance or a solid musical rendition or even as a standup comedian she expresses a deep connection to her audience. As a comic her life stories and relational issues come to life, hilariously. She effortlessly takes her audience on a journey as only can be told by her with witty punchlines and drama filled stories. She is as expressive as she is beautiful. Algiers Diamond has had the privilege to share the stage with comic greats Michael Colyar, Teddy Carpenter, Tony Woods, Alex Scott, and Sylvia Traymore to name a few.

Seating is first come first served. Full menu & bar will be available throughout the event.
