The members of the Board of Directors of DC-based Open Arms Housing are holding a surprise retirement celebration for Marilyn Kresky-Wolff. Marilyn has been the executive director at Open Arms Housing since the organization opened its doors in 2009 to provide permanent supportive housing to women who’ve been living on the streets of Washington, DC. Currently, Open Arms serves 84 chronically homeless women at the Dunbar (Truxton Circle neighborhood), Owen House (Trinidad neighborhood), and at individual scattered sites around the city. Since 2009, when the Dunbar opened with 16 formerly homeless women, 94 percent of Open Arms’ clients have remained housed. This is Marilyn’s greatest success.
