A Busboys and Poetry Event hosted this week by Simply Sherri
California born and Maryland raised, Simply Sherri started writing in 2001 and started reciting her work in 2008 in her poetic home of Baltimore. With topics ranging from love and relationships to depression and verbal abuse, her writing style is easy going and a reflection of her world. Simply Sherri has spotlighted and featured in New York City, Philadelphia, Washington and Atlanta. In 2010 she released her debut poetry CD Liquefy. She released her first book “Love Simply” in 2015. She is the host of several poetry venues between Baltimore, MD & Washington, DC.
FEATURING: DIONDRE GRIM JACKSON
Diondre Jackson (Grim) is a Baltimore native. He is a teaching artist for DewMore Baltimore. Grim is also a talented Hip Hop artist and producer. He is the author of the book “I don’t believe in Gravity.” In 2016, Grim became the first ever in poetry history to be on the winning team at the National Poetry slam (for adults) and the international youth poetry slam known as Brave New Voices in the same year. He is also a Rustbelt and Southern Fried Poetry champion.

For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week. Expect to be moved, expect a packed house, expect the unexpected, but above all come with an open mind and ear.

Seating is available on a first come, first seated basis. No saved or reserved seats are allowed. Failure to check in within 30 minutes of advertised start time may result in a forfeiture of seats.
