FEATURING AXIOM: BLACK ROOT & WORDSLAVE
Jamaal “Black Root” Collier and Rahsaan “Wordslave” Eldridge met at Towson University as members of a performing ensemble then known as Kuumba Players. The two bonded over their mutual love and respect for Hip Hop when they began trading rhymes one day after rehearsal. Soon after, they recorded their first project entitled Axiom: The Mixtape. Two more projects followed including Heat Rises and It’s A Mixtape!
Since 2003, Root and Word have collaborated artistically in spoken word, music, acting, and cultural events such as wine tastings, art releases, and dinner shows, all the while using life experiences as inspiration to foster their growth as artists, and stand-up citizens in their community and society at large.
