A Busboys and Poetry Event hosted this week by Simply Sherri.
California born and Maryland raised, Simply Sherri started writing in 2001 and started reciting her work in 2008 in her poetic home of Baltimore. With topics ranging from love and relationships to depression and verbal abuse, her writing style is easy going and a reflection of her world.
Simply Sherri has spotlighted and featured in New York City, Philadelphia, Washington and Atlanta. In 2010 she released her debut poetry CD Liquefy. She released her first book “Love Simply†in 2015. She is the host of several poetry venues between Baltimore, MD & Washington, DC.
FEAT: Theron Jenkins
Theron Jenkins was the Grand Slam champ for the 2014 Loser Slam team and a member of Jersey City Slam in 2016. He was a member of The Nu Jeru Slam at Southern Fried 2018 where they placed 2nd overall of 32 teams. Therons poem "Pennies" was a runner up in the 2017 button poetry video contest. Theron also acted in a short film called " 8 million miles from hintahood " which was selected to feature at the Hip-Hopfestival in Brooklyn New York and Black Star film Festival in Philadelphia. Theron is an member of the Jersey City Fire Department 4 years now with plans on becoming a Captain in the near future.

For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week. Expect to be moved, expect a packed house, expect the unexpected, but above all come with an open mind and ear.
$5 Cover. No refunds. Ticket purchase limit of 4 per person. Guests must have their wristbands (tickets) on upon entering the event.
Seating is available on a first come, first seated basis. No saved or reserved seats are allowed. Failure to check in within 30 minutes of advertised start time may result in a forfeiture of seats.
