The DC Environmental Education Consortium is turning 25! Since 1993, DCEEC has supported environmental educators in and around the District of Columbia through providing opportunities for networking, professional development, and collective engagement with policies. We envision our city as a place where all residents explore nature with a sense of wonder. We believe that exploration, inquiry, and awareness are keys to balancing the needs of natural and urban systems. Our work increases access to the educational, psychological, and physical benefits of time spent in nature. DCEEC has been almost entirely volunteer-led throughout its history. At our celebration, we will honor our founding members, revisit our history, and be inspired by each other.Â
