This performance will bring together 24 socially engaged musicians from 17 countries — in a rolling, spontaneous round-robin improv session as well as a series of intimate duo and trio performances. Come hear organic mashups of traditional songs from Mongolia, edgy electronica and intoxicating bass lines from Southern Africa, old-time foot percussion and Afro-Brazilian grooves!Â
OneBeat is an initiative of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in collaboration with the groundbreaking New York-based music organization Bang On A Can’s Found Sound Nation.
