Poet Life, in partnership with Busboys & Poets, would like to invite all parents and their children to the Poet Life Academy Open from 9am to 11am at the Busboys and Poets Takoma.Â
The Open House will give you a sneak peek into what the students will experience. Our poetry instructors will put on a LIVE workshop for the incumbent students to introduce them to the curriculum and various activities. Parents will get a glance at the breakfast menu and will have the chance to ask any and all questions to the CEO of Poet Life himself.Â
All in all, this Open House is an opportunity for us to get everyone excited and ready for this confidence building, self-esteem boosting, self-expression boasting experience the incoming students are about to experience. We'll see you all there on Saturday, August 25th at 9am. Let's have some fun!
More information about the workshop:
The students will go on a field trip to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. They will meet and be mentored by professional poets. The students will gradually have the confidence to get on stage, stand before their peers, and share their original poetry.
At the end of the semester, they will have a graduation where each student will recite a poem they wrote and receive a certificate of achievement. Families are invited. Class seats are limited. There will only be 10 seats for each age group (5-8, 9-12, 13-17). Please register today to secure your child's seat in the class.
