Description:

The Poet Life has partnered with Busboys and Poets to offer Writing and Spoken Word Poetry classes at the Takoma location. Classes will be held every Saturday for pre-registered participants from 9am-11am for 8 weeks.

We will be building child(ren)'s self-confidence, raising their self-esteem, and encouraging self-expression. The students will be served a full restaurant-catered breakfast each morning to make it easier for the parents.

The students will go on a field trip to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. They will meet and be mentored by professional poets. The students will gradually have the confidence to get on stage, stand before their peers, and share their original poetry.

At the end of the semester, they will have a graduation where each student will recite a poem they wrote and receive a certificate of achievement.
