Busboys and Poets welcomes Kayona Ebony Brown to the Langston room for this web series launch! Â
Kayona is a multi-hyphenated artist and fledgling entrepreneur from Washington, DC. Ever since she was a little kid, she's had a great vision for her life—to use her artistic talents to do great things in this world, like inspire, entertain, enlighten, and serve others.
As an artistic entrepreneur, art is the foundation of all Kayona's business interests. Ms. Brown is a published author, an actor, a filmmaker (writer/director), and an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurially, her goal is to use her creativity to build the most significant independent diversified mass media/venture capital conglomerate in the world starting with her own work as the first products!
About Of Music and Men:
Kayona ran an indie label for a few years in DC, so Kenya’s (the main character) story isn’t unlike hers. Kayona always wanted to create and star in a scripted series. Ms. Brown would watch shows like Sex and the City and Girlfriends and Golden Girls and Living Single, and say to herself "I wanted to do that someday. I wanted to be Carrie Bradshaw or Khadijah James. I wanted to someday tell stories relevant to women of my generation".Â
This event is open to the public but please RSVP.
