In collaboration with Make Music Day DC, we are pleased to welcome Elyse Martin-Smith to Busboys and Poets for a special performance that is free and open to all.
Make Music Day DC is part of the worldwide Make Music Day celebration held each year on June 21, bringing communities together through free, live musical performances in public spaces, neighborhoods, parks, businesses, and cultural venues across the District. The event celebrates the power of music to connect people and make the arts accessible to everyone
Elyse is an interdisciplinary artist from Vermont, presently developing her debut album “wilderness” with a jazz/funk influence. A 2025 Harvard graduate and a museum educator, she brings art classes and workshops to carceral spaces like the DC Jail to blend music with a restorative social mission.
