Soon the Women’s Boat to Gaza will set sail to challenge Israel’s brutal naval blockade. The Israeli government has continued its deadly bombing campaign in Gaza, and the international community must speak out and take actions in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. The Women’s Boat to Gaza will do exactly that.

Four women from CODEPINK will travel to Barcelona, Spain in mid-September for the send-off of the boat on its trip around the Mediterranean before heading for Gaza.

Ann Wright will be leading the boat to Gaza. Ann was a passenger on the 2010 Gaza Freedom Flotilla when that boat was attacked by the Israeli military , killing. nine passengers and injuring 50 others. Ann also was an organizer and passenger on the 2011 US Boat to Gaza, “The Audacity of Hope,” and on the 2015 Gaza Freedom Flotilla.
Diane Wilson will be a crew member of the boat. Diane Wilson has traveled to Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon, but this will be her first trip to Palestine. Diane has been a shrimp boat captain in the Texas gulf. She is the author of “An Unreasonable Woman.”
Kit Kittredge will be part of the ground logistics team in Barcelona. Kit was also a passenger on the 2011 US Boat to Gaza, “The Audacity of Hope” and 2011 Canadian Boat to Gaza, “Tahrir.” She was taken into custody by the Israeli military in international waters, charged with entering Israel illegally and deported from Israel.
Barbara Briggs-Letson will also be part of the ground logistics team in Barcelona. Barbara was a member of the ground team in Athens, Greece for the 2011 US Boat to Gaza. She is looking forward to once doing the important work of being part of the ground team.
