Join us for an evening of music, poetry and reflection to benefit the DC chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. This is a forum where we will examine the complexities of these issues through music, poetry, and art. The event will also include a roundtable on strategies for suicide prevention where attendees will be able to pose questions or share their experiences.
Recent suicides by chef Anthony Bourdain and designer Kate Spade have drawn attention to a stark crisis in US society. Since the late 90s, the suicide rate has gone up by more than 30%.
There will be keynote remarks by Jennifer Leyton-Armakan, who serves on the advisory board of the Josh Anderson Foundation.
Please join us and spread the word. Free and open to all!
