Join us at Busboys and Poets Anacostia for Round 1 of the 5th Annual Spoken Word to Go-Go Championship—a one-of-a-kind competition where poetry meets the pulse of go-go. This electrifying competition brings together some of the region’s most powerful poets, each performing original spoken word over live go-go tracks by The Experience Band & Show.

🎤 For the poets:
Registration is now CLOSED for Round 1.
Selected poets will perform live, choosing from a curated go-go track list and delivering original work in a 3-minute set. This is your moment to move the crowd and claim your place in the competition.
🆠What’s at stake:
The journey leads to the championship title, the Crystal Mic Trophy, a recording session with The Experience Band & Show, and a $2,500 cash prize.
