Please join Busboys and Poets Books as we welcome author Mandy Mikulencak for a discussion about her new book THE LAST SUPPERS.Â
An unusual and moving novel about a Louisiana woman with a calling to prepare meaningful final meals for death row prisoners. Though it takes place in the 1950’s, THE LAST SUPPERS raises issues that are all-too timely – race, poverty, justice, capital punishment and prisoners’ rights – as a prison cook’s quest to provide meaningful final meals for death row inmates leads her to question the truths of her own past.
Mandy Mikulencak has been a writer her entire working life. First, as a journalist then as an editor and PR specialist for two national nonprofits and a United Nations agency.
