Each year in January during National Mentoring Month, United Way of the National Capital Area and Deloitte celebrate the contributions of mentors and mentoring programs to the growth and development of the Washington, DC metropolitan region’s youth. The consistent, enduring presence of a caring adult in a young person’s life can be the difference between staying in school or dropping out, making healthy decisions or engaging in risky behaviors, and realizing one’s potential of railing to achieve one’s dreams. This year we invite YOU to celebrate with us and make a profound difference in the lives of our youth by becoming a mentor.
