Description:

Please join Busboys and Poets Books as we welcome author Marc Fasanella to present his new book "Ralph Fasanella: Images of Optimism."

Forged by the political tumult and aftermath of two World Wars, Marc's father Ralph became a student of the human condition and advocate for a better life for all. He formed a view of American society that was critical and clear eyed, communicated his insight through his art, and shed light on what a more reasoned society would look like.

Growing up the son of a self-taught intellectual, political activist, and visual artist gave Marc a very specific lens through which to view his surroundings. He formed an outlook on life at odds with the suburban middle class world he inhabited. This monograph speaks to Marc's father’s art through the intimate bond they formed as intellectual compatriots and iconoclasts in a society increasingly out of sync with the egalitarian existence they both knew could be attained for all.
