Description:

Join us for a talk by Palestinian human rights defender Issa Amro will outline the situation on the ground in the West Bank, the impact of US foreign policy, resistance in Palestine and the US, and how to build a global intersectional movement.

Issa Amro was born in the old city of Hebron 1980. For several years now he is unable to visit the street and the house in which he was born due to illegal settler activity in the city.

He is the co-founder of the Hebron-based Youth Against Settlements initiative. In 2010, he was declared “Human Rights Defender of the year in Palestine” by the UN OHCHR and he is formally recognized as such by the European Union.

He has been arrested, beaten and tortured more times than one can count. His story is unique and it must be heard and amplified.
