Description:

Happy Birthday, Langston Hughes!

February 1, 1901 - May 22, 1967

Join us in celebrating the birthday of Langston Hughes, the iconic poet, playwright, and voice of the Harlem Renaissance, whose words continue to inspire generations. Langston’s brilliance and passion for art, justice, and humanity serve as a guiding light for Busboys and Poets. Our name itself pays homage to his legacy, recalling his time as a young busboy at the Wardman Park Hotel in D.C., dreaming and writing his way into history.

Today, we honor not only the man but the enduring spirit of creativity and activism he represents.
