Description:

Please join Busboys and Poets Books as we welcome author Trita Parsi to 14th and V.

In his book "Losing an Enemy: Obama, Iran, and the Triumph of Diplomacy," Parsi presents a detailed insider account of the Obama administration’s nuclear deal with Iran is a story about “how to make peace,” and it’s one that should serve as a model for future crisis resolutions. Parsi interviewed key players on all sides, including Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and Secretary of State John Kerry. He lays out what each side felt it had to lose, reveals how chillingly close we came to war, and presents the agreement as a major success that both averted the threat of war with Iran and prevented the possibility of an Iranian nuclear bomb. Parsi, founder and president of the National Iranian American Council, is also the author of A Single Roll of the Dice, selected by Foreign Affairs as the Best Book of 2012 on the Middle East, and Treacherous Alliance - The Secret Dealings of Israel, Iran and the US. Parsi teaches Middle East politics at Georgetown University.

Books will be available before and after the event.
