Description:

Let’s Keep Talking!

ACTOR (A Continuing Talk on Race)

In honor of National Poetry Month, we invite you to join us for a powerful and thought-provoking ACTOR (A Continuing Talk on Race) discussion.

This month, we’re celebrating the transformative power of poetry and its role in challenging systemic inequities. Through a curated reading and conversation, a panel of poets and activists will explore how language can disrupt dominant narratives and center overlooked histories.

We’ll explore the following questions:

  • How can poetry disrupt dominant narratives and reclaim true history?
  • What role does art play in sustaining movements for racial justice?
  • How to navigate the tensions between craft and activism?

Whether you're a writer, reader, artist, or plain-old poetry lover, this ACTOR discussion promises inspiration, community, and, as usual, dialogue.

This event is free and open to the public!

A.C.T.O.R. (A Continuing Talk on Race) is a public discussion series. It provides the opportunity for people to come together and speak openly and honestly about issues of race, class and culture. The intent is that each person walks away from the discussion feeling something: challenged, educated, uncomfortable, enlightened, refreshed, reassured and hopefully inspired and moved to action!

On the last Sunday of each month, there is a new topic for discussion
