On Thursday, November 28, 2024 Busboys and Poets-Anacostia will provide free sit-down Thanksgiving lunch for the community.
Open to all, including those who are unhoused, the event provides a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings, lovingly prepared by Busboys and Poets staff and community volunteers.
Community members are encouraged to show up beginning at 11 AM to sit down and enjoy a full-service dining experience with good company.
In a world marked by ongoing challenges, this Thanksgiving Lunch is an opportunity to strengthen bonds, share joy, and reflect on the resilience and strength of the community. Busboys and Poets owner Andy Shallal and the Anacostia team are proud to continue this tradition of fostering inclusivity, empathy, and shared humanity.
