Description:

Please join DC Action for Assange and DC-area Assange supporters for an "Assange Free" celebration on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 5 to 7 pm at Busboys and Poets 14th & V St location.

Our headline speaker is Gabriel Shipton, Julian Assange's brother - who will join us in-person. Gabriel and his father John Shipton campaigned tirelessly for Julian's release. We will also have speakers on press freedom including CIA whistleblower John Kiriakou, Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin, Clayton Weimers of Reporters without Borders, and more! Video tributes; musical performance; and ice cream from Ben & Jerry's founder Ben Cohen.

Please join us for this special celebration! Open to the public, no charge to attend.
