In honor of the Day of Cuban Culture, Busboys and Poets has partnered with the Cuban Embassy to host a Cuban Film Festival to celebrate the art and culture of Cuba.Â
Cuban Film Festival:
Monday, 10/14 - 6:30 PM @ Takoma, FILM SCREENING AND DISCUSSION HERMANAS DE CORAZÓN (Sisters of the Heart) is an independent documentary film that explores the history of the Oblate Sisters of Providence, the first Catholic order of Black nuns. Gloria Rolando produced the film, which includes interviews with former students of the Oblates, Black Cuban nuns, and historians from Cuba and North America.
