Description:

Cuban Cultural Voices & Cuban Cultural Policies

Please join Khadijah Ali-Coleman, James Early, the Cuban Embassy, George Koch and Dera Tompkins in a discussion about Cuban Cultural Voices as exemplified through their societies' music, dance, literature, visual arts and cultural policies.

Busboys and Poets Travel Tribe witnessed these cultural voices during a trip to Havana, Cuba in January 2024. A short film from the trip will precede our discussion. Audience participation and interaction are invited.

This event is presented in concert with the current art exhibition "Cuba: Resilience Through Resistance".

The exhibition featuring photographic images by eight travelers from the trip will remain on view through November 2024. Meet and greet some of the photographers whose exhibit pieces will be available for purchase.
