For the fifth year, in honor of survivors during Domestic Violence Awareness month, Community Advocates for Family and Youth will host a night of spoken word & poetry, “Shattering the Silenceâ€. This annual fundraising event will occur on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Busboys & Poets in Hyattsville, MD. The evening will include music, a silent auction, survivors’ testimonials, and spoken word from notable artists. This event will also feature special guests, Poet Laureate of Prince George’s County, Dr. Ali-Coleman and The Brown Ballerinas. Every dollar raised will strengthen our ability to continue to help victims move to survivorship.Â
