Outgrow the System
There is widespread concern that the current economic system is putting humanity on the brink of ecological breakdown. Calls to act on climate change therefore increasingly demand the transition to a more sustainable and just economic system. But what does such an alternative economic system look like - and how do we make it happen?
Join us for a film screening of the documentary “Outgrow the System†and discussion to explore fresh thinking on alternative economic models. The one-hour documentary, crafted by a Swedish collective of filmmakers, sheds light on economic strategies that steward our planet's limited resources, aiming to safeguard the survival of humans and other species.
The event is co-organized by the Heinrich Böll Foundation, Washington, DC and Extinction Rebellion Washington, D.C. (www.xrdc.org). Founded in the UK in 2018, Extinction Rebellion is a global non-partisan movement using non-violent direct action and civil disobedience to persuade governments to act justly on the climate and ecological emergency. The Heinrich Böll Foundation is a non-profit organization that is part of the global green movement.
