Please join Groundswell International Executive Director, Steve Brescia, and Food First Executive Director, Eric Holt-Gimenez, for a discussion about our newly published book, Fertile Ground, and the urgent need to transform our broken food and farming system and the vital role that agroecology can and should play.
What: Please join Groundswell International and Food First for a discussion about their new book, Fertile Ground. They will dive into the vital role that agroecology can and should play in transforming our broken food and farming system.
Why: Current agricultural practices are causing forests and local seed varieties to be lost, zapping our soil of its nutrients, creating dead zones in once thriving regions.
How: Groundswell strengthens rural communities and builds healthy food and farming systems from the ground up. Farmers go through a process of local community building and use and spread agroecology, a way of farming with nature instead of against it.
Results: 33,000 farmers throughout the world now grow more and healthier food, regenerate their environment and increase their household income.
