Washington, D.C. photographer Sabrina “Bri” Cole is sick of the murky, swamp dating scene. After finally dropping her long-term, dead-end relationship, Bri is feeling frisky. She decides to DM her college lover Victor Stone kinky photos, which she calls breadcrumbs, hoping to reconnect with him. But to her surprise, Victor's married now. Should she link up for old times' sake? Well, of course, she should--it's Victor Stone. After their secret encounter, Bri knows it can’t be the one and only reunion. Can she convince Victor to take their situationship a step further? Will his wife, Tamia, agree to share her man? Once Bri opens a boudoir photography studio, aptly named Breadcrumbs, a series of mishaps begin to unfold. Bri's choices leave her navigating a twisted path to self-acceptance.
Kia DuPREE is joining us on the Busboys stage to share riveting details about her debut novel Disentangled. Copies of the book will be available for purchase during and after the event, and Fishman will be signing following the program.
This event is free and open to all. Our program begins at 6:00 pm, and will be followed by an audience Q&A. Copies of DISENTANGLED will be available for purchase before and after the event. Please note that this event is IN PERSON and will NOT be livestreamed.

Kia DuPree received the Fiction Honor Book Award from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association for her debut novel Robbing Peter (Prism Pages) in 2005. Her follow-up book, Damaged, was the first novel published as part of a three-book deal with Hachette’s Grand Central Publishing in 2010. Damaged was called a “knockout” and “…raw gritty, uncompromising realism” by the Library Journal. Kia also wrote Silenced (2011), called “an outstanding achievement” and Shattered (2012)—given a starred review by Publisher’s Weekly—was called “riveting.” Her short story, “Lost One,” was included in national bestselling author Shannon Holmes’ anthology, Hood 2 Hood. The Washington, D.C. native—a university professor—lives in Maryland with her two favorite people.
