Focus-In! Film Series: Cinema for a Conscious Community is a Busboys and Poets-produced monthly film series that screens films with a focus dedicated to social justice, peace, art, music, and/or community value.
Girl Rising is a global campaign for girls’ education and empowerment, using the power of storytelling to change the way the world sees and values girls, which is even more important given the current political climate. Please join us as we prove that if we educate girls, we can change the world!Â
As a makeup artivist, a makeup artist using her medium to inspire positive social changes, my goal is to use makeup, photography, and conversations to share women’s stories around the world. As our phenomenal former First Lady, Michelle Obama stated, “[Girls] know that education is their only path to self-sufficiency. It is their only chance to shape their own fate rather than having the limits of their lives dictated to them by others.â€
