Every day is Thanksgiving for indigenous people. But the most basic things we have to be grateful for--water, air, and food--are being threatened by the Dakota Access Pipeline. Crossing treaty lands adjacent to the Standing Rock Indian Reservation, the crude oil pipeline violates the treaties and human rights of Native people. Join the DC Stands with Standing Rock Coalition for a night of Native justice, music, and culture. Led by the local Native community and in partnership with the Piscataway Indian Nation (on whose ancestral lands Busboys resides) this event will bring to light the issues we and our Mother Earth face, and how YOU can help. We'll be drumming, singing, praying and dancing for peace and justice. And we'll have a little fun, too, while we're at it. If you can't make it to this event, please support the water protectors at the Oceti Sakowin camp. Mni Wiconi--Water is Life!
DC Stands With Standing Rock is an indigenous led community coalition to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline, support the Standing Rock protectors, and work towards environmental justice where we live.
