DC SCORES goes where kids in need are and creates neighborhood teams that give kids the confidence and skills to succeed on the playing field, in the classroom, and in life. With the unique combination of soccer, poetry, and service-learning in free afterschool programs at 60 sites in the city, DC SCORES creates lasting impact in students’ lives.
On October 25th, DC SCORES will lead two poetry workshops for neighborhood schools at Busboys and Poets in Brookland. With the help of a local artist and DC SCORES staff, students will practice performing their poems in preparation for the DC SCORES Poetry Slam! in November.Â
