Description:

Come join author Tom Pellman at the publication launch of his literary mystery The Soul of Beijing, published by Camphor Press. “A gloriously vivid tale. A kaleidoscopic portrait of Beijing, from young strivers to corrupt bureaucrats and disaffected expats.” – Te-Ping Chen, author of Land of Big Numbers.

Tom Pellman lived in China for over a decade, working as a business journalist and consultant. He was also fiction editor of the Beijing-based writers' collective The Anthill and co-edited and contributed to While We’re Here (Earnshaw Books, 2015), an anthology of The Anthill's best work.

At the event, Pellman will be in conversation with Cate Cadell of the Washington Post about the novel, its themes, and what life is like today in Beijing beyond geopolitical tensions.
