Carlie completed Yoga Districts 200-hour certification in winter of 2015 and has been teaching and learning ever since. After over 10 years of training as a dancer and stage performer, she experienced a spinal/nerve injury that prevented her from dancing anymore (or so she thought!). She began practicing yoga as she healed and yoga soon became an essential part of her healing process both physically, mentally, and spiritually. Learning, studying, and finding community in Carlie's practice has inspired her to spread this joy and healing through community to those in my classes. She believes that radical inclusion is essential to healthy community building and seeks to provide an atmosphere of non-judgmental acceptance. In her asana practice, she offers a flow-based sequence inspired by the power sequence, Dharma, and Prana-flow. Philosophically, she draws inspiration from Buddhism, quantum mechanics, and astrophysics. The music Carlie plays in class is upbeat and varied, including indie, folk, R&B, and trance.
