Crossroads, Detours, & Exits will be a candidly personal interrogation from JR “Nexus†Russ of his identities, particularly being Black, Filipino American and Queer, particularly sharing those moments when life took a turn. Nexus will be performing this show in open mic venues and black box spaces around the DMV area. And you’re invited to join him on this exploration of self, community, and home.
Of Crossroads, Detours, & Exits, Nexus says, “This show is both the most exciting and the most terrifying performance I will have undertaken in my life. Even though it’s only being produced one year later than originally planned, the story I have to tell is already a drastically different one than that show I would’ve shared in 2021. As a multi-hyphenate individual who’s lived my whole life in Washington, DC, I hope to share those moments in my life as well as our country’s history, which have brought me to where I am today, and have paved the way for where I’m going.â€
Doors open at 7pm for seating, food, and drinks. Seating is first-come, first-served. Beverage and food service will continue to be available during the show. Show starts at 8pm.
