Monique W. Morris presents her new book, Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools (The New Press 2016). Dr. Morris, the cofounder and president of The National Black Women’s Justice Institute, is also the author of Black Stats: African Americans by the Number in the Twenty-First Century (2014) and Too Beautiful for Words (2012).
The Center on Poverty has been proud to partner with Dr. Morris on a ground-breaking project that seeks to improve school resource officers’ relationships with girls of color.
