Drawing on what the editors describe as the country’s “rich tradition of socialist proposals,” these essays by young progressives outline a future of greater equality and opportunity than the capitalist economy currently offers. Edited by Leonard, who also edited Occupy!: Scenes from Occupied America and is a senior editor at The Nation, and Sunkara, founder of Jacobin, a political quarterly, and a contributor to In These Times, this collection considers issues including race, labor, violence, and income disparity, presenting them in fresh and provocative ways seldom heard in the presidential debates.
