Come enjoy Italy’s rock, pop and folk music from the 1960s to this day! The i-Talians will perform songs by singers-songwriters (cantautori) including Vecchioni, Guccini, De Gregori, De André, Baglioni, Branduardi and Battisti. Every song will be provided with an English translation and commentary by Prof. Francesco Ciabattoni (Georgetown University), whose forthcoming book La citazione è sintomo d’amore (Rome: Carocci, 2015) reveals the literary references in the songs.
The i-Talians is a Washington-based band that formed in 2011 and has since performed Italian pop, rock and folk music in the DC area.
The i-Talians are:
Gianpiero Antonazzo (guitar)
Francesco Ciabattoni (piano & keyboards)
Evangelina Elizondo (voice)
Fabrizio Papi (drums)
Gerardo Spatuzzi (bass)
