811 Productions' DC Young Filmmakers program mission is to empower youth 16-18 by teaching them the art of storytelling through the creative aspects of digital filmmaking and media production. This six-week program enlightens their knowledge of media technologies. DC Young Filmmakers is an action-based program that helps develop participants' leadership skills, creativity, and critical thinking skills through filmmaking.
Five illustrious judges Charles Gibson, Chelley Roy, Ez Street, Angela Washington, and Mike Rae Anderson will share their expertise and critiques of the two short films: Everlasting Arms & Unhearted. These works were produced and filmed by The DC Young Filmmakers and demonstrate the talented script writing abilities, acting skills, and ability to listen and execute directions. Both of these masterpieces will touch audiences not just in the busy city of DC but worldwide.
Join us to commemorate the last six weeks with a film screening of these two completed astounding shorts films at Busboys & Poets Anacostia on August 6th from 1pm to 3pm.
