Join us for a special evening of live poetry and music on Tuesday July 6 from 8pm to 10pm at Busboys and Poets 14th and V, Washington DC. There will be poetry readings by poets Shatha Almutawa, Zeina Azzam, Danielle Badra, Kenneth Carroll, Kenneth Carroll III, Brian Gilmore, Laini Mataka, Ethelbert Miller, Samuel Miranda, and Samar Najia.
As well, there will be musical performances by Syrian-American oud player and singer Muath Edriss, Palestinian-American oud player and singer Fuad Foty, and Kurdish-American artist Lukman Ahmad playing the saz and tambur.
The program is open to the public. Suggested donation $10. All donations will go to UNRWA USA, which aids the Palestinian refugees of Gaza.
