The peace accord supported by the international community withstood congressional chicanery and will be implemented. Come help celebrate with DC area peace activists! We promise to keep the speechifying to a minimum and the celebration to a maximum!
Join IPS along with our partner organizations Peace Action, CODEPINK Women for Peace, and the National Iranian American Council for music, some toasts, a few words to take us forward for continued victories.
We haven’t had too many victories this year on the peace front, but we did have at least one: WE WON DIPLOMACY OVER WAR IN DEFENDING THE IRAN DEAL!
So now we need to celebrate. Lots of people, lots of organizations mobilized to defend the deal – to bird-dog members of congress, to petition, to demonstrate, to visit and pressure Congress so it became impossible to overturn the deal. This was OUR victory, and a victory for diplomacy over war.
