Join WAMU 88.5’s Kojo Nnamdi for the next edition of "Kojo In Your Community" in Hyattsville, Maryland.
At this event, we’ll explore the future of the “Black Lives Matter†movement from one of the most unique majority African-American counties in the United States. Prince George's County is home to the most affluent majority African-American community in the country. But it's also a place where there's been long-running tension between residents and police — and a place that's experienced its own unique struggles with crime and economic opportunity as the D.C. region has evolved.
Kojo will lead a live audience conversation on what the national debate about race, justice and opportunity looks like at the community level in Prince George’s County and how the activism young people are engaged in today compares with social movements of the past — in our region and around the country.
Stay tuned for the announcements of panelists.
This program will be recorded and aired on WAMU 88.5 at a later time.
