Join us for this Halloween special open mic, where we encourage poems that speak to or of the supernatural, spirits, ghosts & ghouls, monsters, witchery, and all things weird and freaky! Don't have any poems? Then share your favorite ghost stories, or bring some O.P.P. (other people's poetry/prose)
In addition to this fantastic night, filled with a specialized halloween menu for drinks and eats, we are also having a costume contest, where the best Costumes will have a chance to win Cash Prizes & a Busboys and Poets Gift Card for dinner for 2!
Joseph LMS Green is a DMV based poet who has been writing, performing, and hosting for over 10 years. Joseph LMS began his career in the theatre and puts his years of performance training to good use every time he hits the stage. He has been a member of 5 National Poetry Slam teams including D.C’s own 2011 5th ranked Beltway Poetry Team. In the same year Joseph LMS placed 16th at the Individual World Poetry Slam. When not creating poetry or touring nationally, Joseph LMS is the Program Manager of the Northern VA based after school creative writing program poetryN.O.W. For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices, and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week. Expect to be moved, expect a packed house, expect the unexpected, but above all come with an open mind and ear.
$5 cover. Wristbands are available for purchase online here at midnight and in the restaurant starting at 10:00 AM (cash only). No refunds. Ticket purchase limit of 4 per person. Tickets will be sold at the door if available. Guests must have their wristbands (tickets) on upon entering the event.
Seating is available on a first come, first seated basis. No saved or reserved seats are allowed. Failure to check in within 30 minutes of advertised start time may result in forfeiture of seats.
