Politics & Prose at Busboys and Poets, 14th & V, presents Delphine Schrank as she discusses her new book The Rebel of Rangoon: A Tale of Defiance and Deliverance in Burma
A founder of DECA Stories, a writers’ cooperative focusing on in-depth global reporting, Schrank is currently a contributing editor to The Virginia Quarterly Review. She was a Washington Post Burma correspondent when she began work on what has become her first book, a portrait of dissidents in one of the most repressive nations. As determined and courageous as her subjects, Schrank spent four years virtually underground in Burma, reporting from safe houses and absorbing Burma’s social and political culture, which she powerfully conveys here.
