The D.C.-based Bacon Press is a small independent publisher specializing in issuing books in digital formats. As a long-time presence on the Washington literary scene, Blackwell, a Writers Center teacher and board member, is a perfect Bacon Press author. Blackwell pursued a career in journalism before turning her hand to writing fiction; she has published extensively in literary magazines and her collection, You Won’t Remember This, first came out in 2007 from Southern Methodist University Press.
