SOLD OUT! Please join us for a screening and discussion of the broadcast movie, “Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladiesâ€Â
“Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies†is a documentary based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer (Simon & Schuster 2010) by Siddhartha Mukherjee, M.D. Directed by the award- winning filmmaker Barak Goodman, the film premiered this spring on WETA TV 26, Washington DC’s public broadcasting network, and often is referred to as the biography of cancer. The series documents the biology, decades of research, patients’ experience, treatments, and efforts to cure, control and conquer cancer.
Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion on central themes of the film with physicians, patients, and community groups. We also hope you will arrive early to attend a reception to celebrate the documentary.Â
