A series of conversations between Transgender and Cisgender women of color discussing Womanhood, Feminisim, Relationships, Representation, The Body, Intersectionality, and what it means to be a woman on the margins in today's society.
Hosted by Joanna Cifredo, the founder of FireBreathingTGirl.com.
Joanna is deeply committed to the belief that all forms of oppression are linked, this year to commemorate Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) Joanna and FireBreathingTGirl.com is presenting a new series called Sis to Cis. Sis to Cis aims to model a dialogue about the acceptance and inclusion of transgender women of color into spaces and conversation traditionally reserved for cisgender women; by creating a common understanding about the shared experiences around our lives as marginalized women with a history of resilience.
This event is to be a celebration of the woman in all her forms. Through Sis to Cis we hope to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of the differences between us as transgender and cisgender women we hope to showcase what “safer” spaces and a dialogue across difference can look like, all while shedding light to power dynamics that inform the vulnerabilities of women of color to disproportionate levels of systemic, structural, physical and sexual violence and discrimination.
