Alexa Patrick is a singer and poet from Connecticut. She is a graduate of American University, where she studied Psychology, African-American and African Diaspora Studies, and Spanish. Alexa is a Cave Canem Fellow, and holds teaching positions through Split This Rock, The University of the District of Columbia, and the Center for Creative Youth at Wesleyan University. She is the current head coach of the award-winning DC Youth Slam Team, and has also coached the slam teams of American University and George Washington University for the College Union Poetry Slam Invitational. You may find Alexa's work published in CRWN Magazine and The BreakBeat Poets Vol. 2: Black Girl Magic.

Pages Matam is an international artist & educator from Cameroon, Central Africa, currently residing in Washington D.C. He is the Director of Poetry Events for Busboys and Poets, a Callaloo Fellow, and Write Bloody published author of The Heart of a Comet (2014), which won Best New Book 2014 from Beltway Poetry Quaterly and was a Teaching for Change bestseller. A national and 2x regional poetry slam champion, he has been a featured artist and performer on Upworthy, Huffington, Okay Africa, Macy’s, The Pentagon, the Kennedy Center, the Apollo Theater, BET Lyric Cafe, TV One’s Verses & Flow (Season 4, 5, & 6), The Smithsonian Folklife Festival and the Smithsonian African Art Festival. As Sir Wolfgang, he has been active in BDSM and kink lifestyle offering a variety of services, consultations, and necessary conversations on living a full, healthy, and vibrant sexual life across a spectrum of nuanced discovery and intensity, where one elevates the mind in order to earn the various pleasures of the body and open the spirit to new tangible yet transcendent experiences. He is a proud gummy bear elitist, a dandy life bowtie enthusiast, professional hugger and anime fanatic, leading an unapologetic life of creativity, passion, and kink in a fluid lifestyle.

For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices, and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week. Expect to be moved, expect a packed house, expect the unexpected, but above all come with an open mind and ear.

$5 cover. Wristbands are available for purchase online at midnight and in the restaurant starting at 10:00 AM (cash only). No refunds. Ticket purchase limit of 4 per person. Guests must have their wristbands (tickets) on upon entering the event.

Seating is available on a first come, first seated basis. No saved or reserved seats are allowed. Failure to check in within 30 minutes of advertised start time may result in forfeiture of seats.
