A Busboys and Poetry Event hosted this week by Chris Poetryzchyld Thomas featuring 2Deep
Poetryzchyld is a poet, author, and host who began writing at the age of thirteen. His extraordinary ability to transform his emotions into art turned into a love for poetry that never ceased. Poetryzchyld’s performance poetry has given him the opportunity to share his work through radio on WPGC’s Love Talk and Slow Jams and WRTR Real Talk. He was a three-time guest poet for Studio 2001 Art Gallery, a featured poet for Save the Arts Community, Sweet and Natural, Spit Dat, Spoken World and a host of other venues. Poetryzchyld has published three books titled: “Moodz’ Ring”, “Voices Carry” and "Coloring outside the Lines."
2Deep has certainly made a name for herself in the poetry community since 2006 by performing at Ottawa University (Canada), Cornell University, and opening for the late Gill Scott-Heron in 2009. She was a member of Busboys and Poets’2009 Slam Team, Word War II Champion, and the Busboys and Poets’Slam Master. Having her Bachelors of Fine Arts and Masters of Fine Arts degrees gave her a solid foundation from which she could build her creative empire, Uncensored Inc.
For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week. Expect to be moved, expect a packed house, expect the unexpected, but above all come with an open mind and ear.
