Featuring: Musical Fun with Mr. Hyson
Rise + Rhyme is a weekly morning storytelling and performance series for children ages 5 and under with the goals of teaching children to engage with their community, learn to love performing and become rising artivists!
Mr. Leroy Hyson is a retired educator in the Montgomery County Public School System who taught grades pre-k to 6th grade. He has over 30 years of experience working with children; and still enjoy seeing kids learn and grow at every age. His exciting show features a full concert for the whole family featuring themes such friendship, never giving up, and feelings. He also instruments, colorful scarves, pom-poms, jump ropes, hula hoops, cool sun glasses and more.
Hr. Hyson energetically plays his guitar Georgette while instilling positive messages that give children opportunities to express themselves through speaking, dancing, singing, and acting.

We ask that caregivers teach each child how to begin to support performing arts with a $5 admission per child. Additional donations for the performer are always appreciated.
Rise + Rhyme is held every Monday morning in Hyattsville, MD and Takoma & Brookland, 14th & V DC and the 2nd and 4th Monday at Anacostia, and every last Tuesday of the month at 9:30 AM at Busboys and Poets in Shirlington.
